This steak salad is great for a light, keto-friendly lunch. I love turning classic dinners into a hearty lunch time salad.
The fresh mozzarella cheese really brings out the salty, tender slices of steak. This over the mixed greens, cherry tomatoes, and an herb-tastic dressing, this steak salad is sure to be a favorite!
Yields 6 servings of Keto Mozzarella and Tomato Steak Salad
The Preparation
Sirloin Steak:
- 32 ounce sirloin steak, at room temp
- 2 tablespoon olive oil
- 3 teaspoon fresh garlic, minced
- Salt and pepper to taste
Mozzarella & Tomato Salad:
- 6 ounce mixed greens
- 11 ounce cherry tomatoes, halved
- 11 ounce fresh mozzarella cheese
Salad Dressing:
- 1 ounce fresh parsley
- 1/2 ounce fresh cilantro
- 1/2 ounce fresh basil
- 1/4 ounce fresh oregano
- 3/4 cup olive oil
- 2 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- 1 tablespoon dijon mustard
- Salt and pepper to taste
The Execution
1. Measure out and prepare all the ingredients.
2. In a bowl, combine the olive oil and garlic together and brush on the steak. Season the steak with salt and pepper.
3. On a stovetop, cook the steak for 3-5 minutes per side for medium rare steaks. Using the steak at room temp will keep the steak tender when cooking and ensure a tastier steak.
4. Remove from heat and cover with aluminum foil loosely.
5. Plate the mixed greens with the cherry tomatoes and fresh mozzarella cheese. Mix together.
6. In a blender, pulse the ingredients for the dressing: parsley, cilantro, basil, oregano, olive oil, apple cider vinegar, dijon mustard, and salt and pepper to taste.
7. Cut the steak into slices and place on top of the mixed greens. Top with the dressing. Enjoy!
